Dr. Victor Amable de los Santos Jimenez

My name is Victor Amable de los Santos Jimenez. I am 29 years old and was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

When I was very young, my parents divorced. I lived with my father, while my brother went to live with our mother. Tragically, my mother was murdered by her boyfriend. I was too young to remember much, but the trauma shaped our lives. We lived in a neighborhood plagued by violence, drugs, and crime. My father constantly feared for our safety.

Determined to give us a better life, my father searched for safer options for my brother and me. That search led him to Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH). In late 2003, when I was 7 and my brother was 10, we joined the NPH family.

I still remember that first day—walking into a place filled with peace, kindness, and care. It felt like a different world. The environment was safe and clean. There were no drugs, no guns—just people who genuinely cared about the children. I finally felt what it meant to be safe.

I lived at NPH through high school and stayed an additional year to complete my service year. After that, I pursued a dream I never thought possible: I began studying dentistry in 2014 and graduated in 2021. Today, I am a dentist with a Master’s degree in Prosthodontics.

Since graduating, I’ve worked in underserved communities in both the Dominican Republic and Brazil—places where I also received part of my education—providing essential dental and orthodontic care to those who could not otherwise afford it.

While working in these areas, I realized that the community surrounding NPH—where I was raised—desperately needed a dedicated dental clinic. Many of the residents are poor agricultural workers and Haitian immigrants with no access to basic oral health care. Poor dental health leads to serious and preventable health issues, especially among the most vulnerable.

To meet this urgent need, I created a plan to build a free dental clinic called Health Possible. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors from around the world, I have already purchased land for the clinic, installed basic infrastructure like water and electricity, and completed the architectural plans.

There is still much work ahead to bring the clinic to life—but with your continued support, I know we can make this dream a reality. Together, we can offer tens of thousands of people the dental care they urgently need and deserve.

Thank you for believing in this mission. I am deeply grateful for your support.

God bless you.
